Learning Disorders and ADHD Evaluations are used to help determine if there is a neurodevelopmental condition that impacts how a person learns and performs in academic settings. This type of evaluation would include tests for intellectual functioning, academic achievement, and attention difficulties. This would be helpful if you have or are struggling in school or are experiencing problems at work with following directions or following through on assignments. The testing can help determine if you struggle with a learning disability, an attention deficit, a possible mood disorder (such as depression, which can make it difficult to focus and concentrate), or if you require more of a challenge (such as advanced classes). These evaluations assess for a disorder in reading, writing and math, otherwise known as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, as well as for ADHD and intellectual disability. These evaluations can help tailor academic plans to meet your learning needs by noting your particular strengths and weaknesses. We assess overall intelligence, attention, concentration, impulsivity, reading/writing/math skills. As these evaluations can last four to six hours, we strongly recommend breaks during the testing day or for the testing to be completed over several days. .
